ABOUT THIS WORK
A scent is diffused through the visual of an extremely dense tropical forest. The scent was created especially for the purpose of this artwork and suggests the scent of freshly mown grass. The screen is central in the relation between man and machine; it is the element that binds us to the virtual world. By means of the screen are we able to connect with each other, get information, get entertained and work.We nowadays experience a sensory relationship with the screen, but its next revolution will be to disappear entirely, therefore taking us directly into a virtual reality: a man-made universe where one is fully immerged. The choice will be ours to experience positive or negative copies of reality, or experience new worlds entirely, novel universes. In opposition to the jungle that is inherently wild and develops without any human intervention, grass conjures up the opposite, a man-made and domesticated universe. This installation creates a contradiction between the scent and what it evokes and the image presented, also conjuring up a frontier between the real and the immaterial.
